Ongoing and Completed Devops and Cloud Engineering Project

SJA is one of the biggest charity organizations in the UK providing various services to the needy. To achieve this, there needs to be a strong coordination between donors and projects the funds are applied to. Currently, SJA runs a myriad of tools to handle various functions such as events (using Eventbrite), donations (using RaiserEdge) and SAP for financials. These combination of tools leads to complications down the line in management and cost of licensing. 

The organization is currently migrating to Microsoft 365 CRM to harmonize the events management, donation management and general customer pipelein management.

We are currently contracted as business and data analysts to ensure these migration goes on smoothly. As business analysts, our task is to ensure the business requirements align to the technology.

This requires an effective interface with the SJA project team and the implementation vendor. The project also includes the migration of the Qlikview business intelligence system to Microsoft Power BI. This area requires a strong analytical skill in data to help interprete the Qlikview implementation to PowerBI.

BHC is also gathering business requirements to eventually migrate to a CRM. Our current task is the understanding of the functional requirements within BHC which would eventually act as input in the procurement decision for an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) solution for improved operational efficiency within the council.

Oracle ERP has been selected based on the outcome of the business analysis

Imperial College is currently on a vendor selection drive for a CRM. The business analysis has been completed so most requirements are clear. They also have a myriad of tools similar to the SJA project that need harmonization. Our task in Imperial is to ensure a vendor selection process is transparent and the most efficient vendor is select. This requires our preparation of the sourcing document, the Invitation to Tender (ITT), the Request for Proposal (RFP) and finally a scoring sheet to rate their responses to the requirements presented.

We designed and implemented an end-to-end Continuous integration pipeline using AWS CodeCommit, ArtifactRepository, and CodeBuild, and SonarQube in stages, which were later integrated using the CodePipeline. This was used to automate software testing, which resulted in about 40% reduction in deployment time. With continuous building, and testing, software developers can detect bugs, vulnerability, and inconsistency in their code

We utilized Terraform to provision a highly resilient three-tier- architecture on AWS cloud for hosting a website. This infrastructure is highly secured, scalable and resilient. It is suitable for hosting FinTech web applications, were downtime must be minimal, and resilience to disaster must be very high

We implemented monitoring solutions such as Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, and centralized log management using the ELK Stack to gain real-time insights into system health and performance. This a common practice in software engineering, to monitor the health of an application or even the entire infrastructure.
